Hi, I’m Maria!
I am a recently licensed dietitian passionate about educating others on the importance of nutrition and a balanced lifestyle.
My love for nutrition began when I was a little girl because my father had a health scare with his heart. Fortunately he was okay but was forced to make some major lifestyle changes, including his diet. So, I would tag along with my mom to the grocery store to help her find better options for my dad. She would have me look things up online such as “Is this food item heart healthy?” or “Is this product high in sodium?” Learning from these experiences and witnessing the impact that it had on my father’s health, ultimately sparked my interest to one day become a dietitian. Little did I know I was only scratching the surface.
Fast forward to college, I decided to major in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics. My classes got me excited, and I got as involved as possible, making great friends who shared my major along the way.
After completing my ACEND accredited internship and passing the exam, I can officially say I am a registered dietitian! Today, I am eager to begin my career and help people through nutrition education and medical nutrition therapy.
